I have decided to move back to Rochester to be closer to family, friends and to figure out my life. I have come to the conclusion that I moved to LA too quickly. Even though I like it here, the situation I am in is not ideal and I would much rather be going through this struggle with my family and friends, not alone.

Design for Humanity billabong concert!

It was an amazing night promoting Jana. It was definitely interesting but all together a learning experience. I saw the Lumineers, Imagine Dragons and Walk the Moon. As well as an art auction and runway show, all for a good cause!

Frames for a sweet photo collage

At work we are trying to display Jana's photos in a classy and interesting way. I went to the frame shop to see some samples. It's going to be great!! Ill post a picture when it's all put up.

Orange County Fair!

Yesterday we went to the OC Fair. It was a great time. The fair here is so nice, clean and organized compared to Watertown or Lewis County fairs. It was refreshing.

Sunflowers

Tonight I bought myself some sunflowers. They looked so bright and cheerful I couldn't resist. Especially because I miss the love from back home. I miss my RIT family and my real family. I just wish they could be here with me. I do not miss where I was, but rather just the love that they provide. The feeling of home is something that I have not yet felt here. I still feel like an outsider looking in. Hopefully I will be able to make myself a home here in California in the next few months. I really want to stay here, i love it here, so I need to find myself a place to call my own.

Lately quotes have helped me so much. To be in a new place trying to achieve a goal is hard and quotes are the little pick me ups that motivate me to succeed and reassure me that what I am doing is the right choice. Especially at this point in my life.

My soul truly feels closer to completion when I paint. In some ways it's silly but nothing else helps the way paint and a blank canvas does. As I become closer to who I am, maybe some day I'll be able to practice art therapy the way I have always dreamed.
